Oh. My. God. It is here, the move is here, and I am FREAKING OUT. As you can tell, our timeline got shifted...just a little. The earliest we could be moved is this week. The movers come to pack us Wednesday and Thursday and load up the truck on Friday. While we were originally intending on going to visit family after being packed up, we ended up doing that last week instead, and have so much left to do that we cut the visit shot just a little. It's a lot harder leaving when I'm not going back in just a couple months like I normally have done since my niece was born. It was good though... we saw my family, and his family which is just a little harder since he refuses to talk to his parents and not all his siblings get along and blah blah drama so unlike with my family we can't see everyone all at once. But we managed to see some on the way up to visit my family, including some of his/our friends, and some on the way back down.
I only made it to one night of the dance event I wanted to go to, but that's OK cause in the end I didn't much feel like going (and I had the worst headache ever on Friday anyways.) I had fun once I got there, though.
There is still so much- SO MUCH- left to do. He waited until the last minute to figure out shipping his car so he hasn't even scheduled dropping it off yet, cause he needs a letter from the lien holder saying he can ship the car. We need to get me every power of attorney necessary that is PCS and/or deployment related. We need to arrange our accommodations for when we get there. I need to send in all the appropriate documentation for the cats to enter the state, and set up for them to be boarded while we are on our cruise. And for them to be boarded once we get to Hawaii. We need to arrange for their flight, which is looking like it will be on a different airline. I need to arrange to drop off my car to be shipped.
I am so looking forward to everything being arranged and done and for us to be on the road for this crazy journey!

He Lives!
So, I have for quite a long time wanted a massive fish tank. Or a few. A couple years ago I had a spare ten gallon and our office manager wanted a fish tank on her desk, so I brought it in. I had the whole set up and it was just sitting under my table, so why not? So for a while our office at work had a fish tank. The kids loved it. Eventually, though, the company grew and we just no longer had room for the fish tank. So despite hearing for ages from Eric that, no, we were not getting a fish tank, I suddenly had a fish tank. Fish and all! But fish I didn't like.
One day I was at the pet store and found a great deal on a used 55 gallon tank with stand. It took a while, but we transferred the fish into the big tank. Still mostly fish I didn't like, except the Khuli loach. Man do I love Khuli loaches.
Here is the wonderful fish tank, not long after it was set up last winter...

We've had all sorts of issues with it with green water (ugh) so even though I had all these plans for it with tons of tetras (yes, bunches of tiny fish for the big tank! Schools of 'em!) But I think what I will have to do is replace the light, because if I leave the tank light off the green goes away, but if I leave it on even a full day the water starts getting green again. I need to look into what kind of light is IN there (the fixture came used with the bulbs in it) and what I can switch to. But due to all these issues, I had gone for quite a while without the light on and as a result, lost a number of the fish. All of the bloodfin tetras, at least.
I wasn't sure about my Khuli loach. For those of you who don't know, they are the kind of fish that hide, and will typically come out when it is dark. I hadn't seen it at all since the extended blackout, and just figured at this point it must have not made it. Then today I go to turn on some lights in that room, and there he is!!!
Pardon the dirtiness, the whole tank needs to be cleaned. But YAY! The loach lives! He is one of the fish that we had in the tank when it was at work, and thus he is called "Worm" because that's what the office manager thought he looked like.
Hope to see you again soon,Worm!

Confined!!
Yeah, she is now confined to the extra room. I found her (she kept going back to the neighbors front steps) and eventually chased her down and got her interested enough in the food in my left hand to catch her with my right hand. She let me grab her no problem, halfway back in the house she started growling and hissing at me, at which point I pinned her to the car, released the rest of the food so I could get a better grip, and brought her the heck inside.
So yeah I have her in the spare room with some water, food, her litterbox, and some toys. She's at least going to be stuck there overnight, the little attention hog. I think a vet visit is in order.
As you may imagine, I end up at the vet a lot. I think Porcellus will be needing to go in soon, I hear noises when he breathes which is a sure sign he's sick. So, I feel like on the 3rd instead of just a re-check of Bandit, there'll be a whole 3-some of my pets going in. Good thing my school money is coming in the next week or so, before I have to visit the vet, and I'll have another paycheck by then too!!

It's a zoo in here!!
So my sisyter convinced me to start one of these. She has one with all sorts of cute pictures of her Kitty, Godiva. I guess if she has one for her one little kitty, I can have one for me and the mini zoo.
Currently I have: one cat (Honey), three guinea pigs (Scooter, Porcellus, and Bandit), four bearded dragons (Fatso, Spunky, Spitzer, and Fairley) and one un-named crayfish. I'll add pictures as soon as I find my camera. Thats on my list for today- clean the room. At which point I'll find my camera. I last saw it on my bed, which means it probably fell off and slid under it.
I'll probably also include my boyfriends pets, since I spend plenty of time with them as well! He has two crested geckos (I don't remember their names), and three bearded dragons (Inara, Deter, and Sparticus). He also has a frilled dragon on hold.
In the future (In maybe a year or so) I also plan to get Rankins Dragons (like bearded dragons, but smaller) and possibly knob-tailed, leaf tailed, or gargoyle geckos. Evetually I think I'll get a Degu, too. Anyone see those? They've sprung up in pet stores all over lately, they're cute. Maybe after my guinea pigs pass on!
In any case, I love my animals. They take up a good chunk of my time, and some of them even get to travel with me (Particularly my dragons, as they need live food and appropriate lighting each day) so look forward to some good travel stories!
That's all for today :)
